The aim of this course is to give every participant an insight into surgical procedures connected with the topic of tooth autotransplantations. Starting from indications and contraindications, atraumatic extractions and creating the best conditions for surgery it spans the arch over the extensive hands-on parts and finishes with post-operative care and management of complications. The aim of this course is to provide participants with a clinically oriented understanding of tooth autotransplantation, combining biological principles, case selection, and practical surgical skills. The program covers indications and contraindications, donor tooth assessment, and recipient site planning based on clinical findings and CBCT imaging. Emphasis is placed on periodontal ligament preservation, healing biology, and key prognostic factors influencing long-term success. Interdisciplinary aspects and treatment planning strategies are also discussed. The hands-on part focuses on atraumatic extraction techniques, preparation of fresh and healed recipient sites, and precise three-dimensional positioning of the transplanted tooth. Participants will practice stabilization and optimal suturing while minimizing extraoral time and trauma to the periodontal ligament. The course concludes with postoperative management and complication control, including follow-up protocols and strategies for handling root resorption, ankylosis, infection, and transplant failure, supported by discussion of complex clinical cases. By the end of the course, participants will be able to independently plan and perform tooth autotransplantation and manage its postoperative course in a structured and evidence-based manner.
